Description: The Thakurbari has been converted to Rabindra Bharati University, which is now a center for Indian Classical Fine Arts and also a museum, Rabindra Bharati Museum, established in the year 1961, having a splendid compilation of Tagore`s creation. The Rabindra Bharati Museum is an attraction of the tourists from home and abroad, as it gives a glimpse into the splendid creations and works of Abanindranath and Rabindranath. The museum has three galleries, where in the first gallery, the life and activities of Rabindranath Tagore is traced, the second gallery portrays the distinguished members of his family like Dwarkanath, Maharishi Debendranath, Abanindranath and the brothers and sisters of Rabindranth, the third is the depiction of the Bengal renaissance and the contributions of the pioneers of the Tagore family. The Museum comprises of a valuable reserve of their original paintings of Tagores photographs, books, tapes, disc, records, manuscripts and many other items that were associated with the eminent personalities of 19th century Bengal, like Iswar Chanda Vidyasagar and Dwarkanath Tagore.
